1. Lars and the Real Girl - I think that this guy has some sort of psychological disorder because it is disruptive to the people around him. To expand on this, even though it does not disrupt his friends it is mainly because his friends know of his disorder and is either a) trying to do the act out of a kind gesture or b) doing it because they are sorry for him. Of course, there are other factors however, those are the main ones I can think of right now. Furthermore, it is atypical since it is not common for people to be in love or infatuated with dolls. It can influence other people because the way that his friends reacted were due to his influence.
2. Anne - She does have a psychological disorder because it is atypical to her family and peers (not friends) stated in the story. Even though it does not affect her internally, it is affecting her grades and her family and the way her peers treat her. And also, it is not extremely atypical as there are some people like her however, people that are like her are not extremely common throughout the society.
